I’m pretty sure that quittin ’ time whistle has blown, and it’s time for a cold one. Thi s is a pretty cool truck. What can you tell me about it?
Any big plans for the weekend? Short of sleeping in and watching F1, I got nothing. Y’all be safe.

It’s a beer truck. Do you need to know more? I took some comp time on Monday so three day weekend for me. It’s cooled off a bit so I’m going to take the opportunity to do some wrenching on the Camaro and see if I can finally get the intake manifold gaskets to stop leaking coolant over the manifold. This will be attempt #2 because getting it right the first time ain’t my style.

At least you didn’t tell me it’s a Lambo.

That is peak Wisconsin right there.
Been sick all week. Feel crappy still. Hope I can at least enjoy the weekend a little bit.

I honestly want to know more about it too. I don’t think I’ve seen an old timer that looked like that before. It’s definitely a long boi. Sort of looks like a Chevy emblem on the hood but the shape might just be coincidence.

Hoping to get out to the garage for a bit at some point. My current woodworking project is a custom sized mahogany picture frame. I need to do some sanding (wearing a respirator - mahogany dust is nasty), get some custom cut glass, and a few other bits on it.

The “rims” on that truck look a thousand times better than what’s usually driving around today on trucks.
Weekend plans: kayaking the snake outside of Jackson.

Well, that sucks. Sorry to hear it. Drink lots of whiskey. It won’t make you feel better, but you won’t care.

I’m wondering if it’s some sort of custom beer hauler.

Thanks. This doesn't lend itself to whiskey though. Thought for sure it was COVID, but test came back negative this morning. Still over 100 degrees. Hooray.

1936 Chevrolet. The tandem rear axles must be very rare, since I have searched for images and info and found none.
Here is a link for the 1936 trucks brochure:

It is a Chevy, around 1937. This is a ‘37 here. Back then (and even now) they sold a lot of cab/chassis combos and others would put bodies on them.

If you have the means, it might be worth getting a second Covid test. Those things are notoriously inconsistent.
If no whiskey, maybe a big fat blunt?

What are the odds that rear end is a custom for the beer company?

I think it’s a fantastic-looking truck.

Getting tested is easy for me - my wife’s practice is testing everyone before they get a colonoscopy, so I just drove down there and the manager came out and swabbed me Wednesday, results, this morning.
Wife is suspecting salmonella, and although I’ve had a bad fever, aches, headache, weakness and stomach issues, my respiratory system is completely clear. As long as that last part is true, I don’t think I’ll bother. Still isolating for now - hoping the fever goes away in the next day.
I gave up that stuff 2o years ago - and don’t want to re-start during COVID (it ain’t great for your lungs).

my respiratory system is completely clear.
Good news.
I gave up that stuff 2o years ago - and don’t want to re-start during COVID (it ain’t great for your lungs).
I haven’t smoked more than a puff or two in 30 yeas, but I did smoke pretty heavily in high school and early college. I had heard that the Jamaicans say that pot smoke is good for asthma, and I can attest that when I started smoking dope I stopped taking my asthma meds and didn’t have any problems at all. Who knows? My neighbor across the street has offered on a couple of occasions to hook me up, and I must say, the thought of a drag or two does seem appealing at times.

Is that just because of the beer? :) It is a good looking truck. Now what about the Labatt’s Streamliners?

I think I figured it out. This truck is equipped with Thornton four rear wheel drive. Sorry for the small images, that is only size I could find.

I’ve actually never been a fan of that truck. Just a little to weird looking. I much prefer that 37 Chevy.

No apologies. I’m impressed with your diligence.

I like both, but I do prefer the Chevy as well.

My dad, who is 86, drank Blatz beer back in the day. I remember when I was a kid, taking all the glass to a recycling center, we where earth friendly in the 70’s and whipping the Blatz bottles really hard. They were shorty bottles like Coors is today. I can’t attest to how Blatz beer tasted, but I assume it was like most domestic cheap beers. Pretty bad.

I’m going in to work for a half day tomorrow, but other than that my only plans are to eat meatloaf and drink this beer that’s in front of me. Good times!

If it’s cold enough, it doesn’t matter.

Just had a high octane whiskey and coke and watched Hamilton. This weekend we get the house ready to be a school. I also need to replace the screen on my iPad. That will be fun
I hope you and yours are well!

I used to drink Blatz in college. We'd mix it with Schlitz and make Blitz because we were daredevils.

Vape it. It's the best way.

You want to come sand and stain my front door?

Yep. Although, the beer pub that opened a few years ago about a mile from me has spoiled cheap beer for me. Cold Bud tastes weird to me now.

Cleaning up more branches and trying to get some work crap done. Pissed my manager finally gets back to me at 3:30 with changes in the slides. I’ve been emailing him. “well my internet is down” well why haven’t you responded with your phone? Supposed to be rushing to get these things done and getting zero help.
Then Sunday nieces SD birthday party.
Load 1: you know you’ve gotten your moneys worth when it won’t slide out.

I don't think my dad drank Blatz, but he did drink Pabst. And that's kind of the same thing.

I totally forgot about cherry picking. I’m currently up to my eyeballs in cherries that need to be pitted and canned.

Bit late to the party but worked way too late and spent most of my friday evening/night cruising around downtown. Also the traditional 1st friday of the month cruise happened.
